The Journey to here,

I initially started my working career as an electrician, those 10 years were not for me! I promised myself I would never stay in a position that I did not like and was not rewarding. Back in the early 1990's it was plain to me that the internet was going to be the way of the future and I began teaching myself php, a coding language. But every good idea I had, someone with more resources and more knowledge would beat me to the punch.  I learnt a lot but found I could not keep up with the changes in the coding language and did not have the time to spend. It was hard to find a developer that was affordable and reliable. It has taken to now for me to be satisfied with the product I now have.

In 1999 I left Australia for a holiday in America, that holiday turned into 20 years living in the United States of America. During those 20 years I lived and worked in 11 states from the east coast to the west coast of America. When you move around in a new country you know little about the different places, and what’s available. It's only after you live there a little while that you start to become aware of places that only the locals know about. You search the internet for things to do but really you only get exposed to those things that bigger companies advertise because they have the funds to be found.

When you read about some of the people who have turned an idea into a huge success, it generally came through an experience where they saw a need. In my case I have had a number of great ideas in the past only to be limited by finances. Once you have the idea you have to get a website that meets your needs and the needs of your clients. Then the fun begins, you need to get found in the wide wide world of the internet. For small companies competing against larger better funded companies this can often be an insurmountable problem. Companies that provide portals to help these businesses generally charge large fees just to belong.  I decided to start something that would help these businesses and also help myself get a start into the lucrative travel market.

When I looked at many of the operators promoting their business through an online site, the site was generally very basic, many of them offering at best a contact form and phone number in order to hopefully get bookings. It is hard enough to get found on a search engine, and when you are found your site needs to give you the best possible chance to turn that visitor into a customer

 

Find Fun Here is designed as a multi-vendor site giving each businesses owner their own fully functional admin panel, allowing them to run their business fully online without having to upgrade their own web site allowing them to sell bookings online and keep track of their bookings and revenue. Only paying a small admin fee for every booking they sell through this site. It helps capture business before customers go cold on the idea. Starting out Find Fun Here charges no annual fees, only charges a small admin fee for booking received through the site. Eventually a small yearly fee will be charged to belong to findfunhere.com, majority of these funds will go to promoting the website and upgrading features to better serve our vendors and their customers.
